The new Volkswagen XL1 concept made its debut at Qatar Motor Show 2011. It doesn’t look very impressive at the first sight right? As references to future technologies, the crowd-pulling appearances of concept cars are in fact a way for companies to make their marks, in so much that sometimes the actual technology can be overlooked. But this time we will not be taken in by good appearances. The new XL1 concept has two very interesting features: First, in order to prevent friction the rear wheels are completely covered and second, rear-view mirrors are replaced with video cameras. Very perceptive! There is no need to underline the fact that this new concept is a hybrid as we already know that no other technology will be possible in the near future. One would wish to see cars running on no fuel at all…Now that we’re talking about new technologies let’s hope for a quick remedy for this…

Bu yeni konsept otomobilde iki enteresan özellik var: Birincisi sürtünmeyi azaltmak için kapatılmış arka tekerlekler; ikincisiyse dikiz aynalarının yerini alan video kameralar. Gayet akıllıca! Bu yeni konsept otomobilin bir hibrit olduğunu söylemeye gerek yok zaten gelecekte başka bir teknolojinin mümkün olamayacağı bugünden belli. Gönül isterdi ki hiç yakıta ihtiyaç duymasın.
